We’ve had a very busy spring and summer with our lavender crop. We’ve shipped all across the country as well as Canada and Europe. WOW!! Now that fall is here we are very busy trimming back all the plants and getting them ready for winter. Trimming back 600 plants is indeed a challenge, since family members are back in college or back teaching. Life is not all work here at the farm though. We are getting ready to host our Holloween Pumpkin Party for our grandkids and their friends. I have over 100 pumpkins this year for the picking and some of them have gotten quite huge. I’m sure they weigh over 80 lbs. Our grandkids love the fact that some of the pumpkins have their names on them. Late at night the pumpkin fairy writes each childs name on certain pumpkins. As our six year old granddaughter says “It’s Amazing”!! Don’t forget to think about sachets and lavender buds for the winter to keep the thought of spring in your mind as the cold approaches.
