I have served the following recipe on two different occasions and it was a hit both times.  It is very refreshing on a hot summer’s eve.

Lavender Margaritas: First make a sweet and sour mix with 3 cups sugar, 2 cups water, 1 tablespoon culinary lavender buds, 2 cups fresh lime juice, and 2 cups fresh lemon juice.  In a medium saucepan, mix the sugar, water, and lavender.  Bring to a boil over high heat and stir to dissolve the sugar.  Cover, remove from the heat, and let steep for 5  minutes.  Strain into a pitcher or large jar.  Add the lime juice and lemon juice.  Cover and refrigerate until cold.  Next combine the mix in a large pitcher with 1 1/4 cups tequila and 3/4 cup orange liqueur.  Add crushed ice.  Cut a lime wedge and use to rub the rims of margarita glasses.  Dip into sea salt.  Fill glass with tequila mizture and enjoy.  I served this at our 4th of July party and it was a hit!!!
